Outspoken activist and ex-partner of Zimbabwean politician Susan Mutami has called for the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) to prevent Temba Mliswa from running for president. Mutami's appeal comes with strong criticisms about Mliswa's personal and financial irresponsibility, raising alarms over his fitness for leadership.

“Dear @online_zifa, I have a son with Temba Mliswa, who is running for ZIFA President. I want you to know he is not fit for such an important role and is an irresponsible father.”

Mutami claimed that Mliswa, who shares a 3-year-old son, Tinotenda, with her, has neglected his financial obligations as a parent. While Tinotenda relies on Australian government assistance, Mutami pointed out that Mliswa continues to spend on campaign activities.

“He hasn’t given a single cent for Tino’s needs. It’s shocking he can afford t-shirts and lunches for his campaign while Tinotenda is left with no support.”

Further, Mutami accused Mliswa of favoritism, supporting some of his children while neglecting others. She emphasized that this behavior reflects a lack of respect for women.

“Temba doesn’t respect women and only looks after certain kids to fit his image.”

Mutami warned that Mliswa’s potential presidency could have serious repercussions for Zimbabwean football, particularly for female players and staff.

“If he becomes President, female soccer players and office staff could face big problems. Before you know it, he’ll be the reason many of them are pregnant. This will hurt football in Zimbabwe and make it harder for other countries to support us.”

Mutami concluded by stressing the long-term damage that could result from appointing a leader like Mliswa, noting the potential loss of international trust and financial support.

“How can embassies and organizations take us seriously if we put someone like Temba in charge? Countries like Australia have sent money to support football in Africa. Leaders like him will ruin our chances of building strong partnerships.”

With Mutami’s statement, attention around Mliswa’s presidential bid is expected to increase, placing further scrutiny on his candidacy.
